PALMER TWP., Pa. -- A field of dreams is coming to Northampton County. A "Miracle League" chapter has been formed in the county to build a baseball field in Palmer Township. The ball field will take shape at the Charles Chrin Community Center complex. It'll be completely handicapped accessible so that players of all ages and abilities can use it. Opening day is expected to happen in spring of 2012. More than 200 similar baseball fields have been built across the country, including one in Heidelberg Township, Lehigh County. The Writers are Gone; Big Changes for Season 2 of THE WALKING DEAD
According to Deadline, it goes as far as Darabont letting his own number two man and writing producer Charles Eglee go. Why the sudden and abrupt changes? Well, it's simply not known at this point. Changes of this magnitude could say a few things but certainly Darabont has pushed "all in" so to speak. This will either be a smart more at the end of the day or this could blow up, time will tell.
Instead of hiring an all new staff to come back for the second season Darabont has decided to have all the scripts prepared by freelance writers. This man has some stones by putting all this on the line in the hands of outsiders. We have a feeling he knows what he's doing. The scripts seem to be straying away from the comics in which its based. Darabont either wants to get closer to the source material or have the greatest "free thinkers" on the market do come up with a new direction.
The 13 episode season two of THE WALKING DEAD will premiere Halloween night, October 31st 2011.

Robbers Get Thousands From Store

READING, Pa. -- Police are looking for three men who they said stormed into a convenience store early Wednesday morning and made off with several thousands dollars in cash. The holdup happened shortly before 6:00 at the Turkey Hill at North 5th and Spring streets in Reading. Police said two of the three robbers were armed with guns and that one of them pointed a gun at the head of one of the three employees and demanded money. Police said the robbers, who wore bandannas over their faces, got away with several thousand dollars. One of the robbers was described as a Hispanic man, about five feet, four inches tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. Police said they believe the same three men robbed another Turkey Hill on Kutztown Road in Reading on November 20. Police told 69 News they are also looking into whether the same men are responsible for a bank robbery in Exeter Township Tuesday afternoon. COOPERSBURG, Pa. -- Firefighters battled a two-alarm fire that damaged a house in which a woman was initially reported to be trapped inside. We're told the fire started just before noon Wednesday at 10 Hillside Drive in Coopersburg, Lehigh County. Flames could be seen shooting through the roof and the windows. Firefighters worked about an hour to get the fire under control. Officials have not said if the woman reported to be trapped inside was rescued or managed to get out of the house on her own.
