Grand Chase World Championship Tournament 2010 Announced

IRVINE, Calif. - Ntreev USA, Inc., developer and publisher of several popular free-to-play games, today announced details about the upcoming Grand Chase World Championship. The tournament, in which players from six countries will fight it out for $20,000 in total winnings, will take place in South Korea from Oct. 29 through Oct. 31.To help all Grand Chase players get in on the action, Ntreev is also hosting a Facebook event where players can create tournament brackets and predict which team will win. These two events are coming on the heels of the release of a full Grand Chase guild system.

"We are thrilled to provide our players with continual promotions for and additions to our games," said Chris Lee, CEO of Ntreev USA. "Grand Chase's World Tournament is a fantastic competition between the very best Grand Chase players from across the world, and we are looking forward to seeing how well our players predict the outcome on Facebook."

The Grand Chase World Tournament will include 3 players each from Korea, Brazil, Taiwan, USA, Thailand and Indonesia for a total of 18 participants. These top Grand Chase brawlers will compete for cash prizes in 3v3 team matches as well as 1v1 solo matches – and every North American participant will walk away with a pair of GWC Astro headsets. The tournament is scheduled to run from Oct. 29 to Oct. 31, and will take place in the Daegu Exhibition & Convention Center in Daegu, South Korea.

"Not only do I get to represent North America in Grand Chase," said JRTSeven, a North America Grand Chase team member headed to the World Championship Tournament. "but I get to travel to South Korea, meet the Ntreev and KOG staff, hang out with some bros, and overall have the time of my life. I feel truly honored.

The Facebook event connected to the tournament allows more fans to participate in the World Tournament from afar by selecting tournament brackets in a bid to guess the victorious players at the event. The most accurate predictions will win prizes, with the grand prize being a pair of custom-made GWC Astro headsets. Players must submit their brackets between Oct. 22 12:00 a.m. PST and Oct. 28 5:00 p.m. PST.

And just when it seems the excitement is waning, Ntreev will be bringing more community events to its players in celebration of the recent release of a guild system for Grand Chase. To create a guild, players can visit Guild Manager Bestair in the Park and redeem Game Points.

The Exorcist, Academy Award® winning director William Friedkin’s masterpiece of suspense that haunted, intrigued, and thrilled the world, is coming to Blu-ray in a two-disc, must-have high-definition set on October 11th. A true cinema landmark, this theological thriller is one of the top ten box office performers of all time1, going to win two Academy Awards and becoming a multi-million dollar franchise.

When the movie was first released in 1973, viewers were blown away – some audience members ran out of the theatre, others became physically ill or couldn’t sleep for weeks. Now, with the superior picture and sound quality that Warner Home Video’s spectacularly restored new Blu-ray version provides, home viewers can experience the intensity of the special effects and infamous sound in this thrilling tale of good vs. evil. Newly remastered in 1080p from the original camera negative, the Blu-ray version includes both the remastered Extended Director’s Cut as well as the remastered theatrical version of the film.

The Exorcist caused a cultural earthquake that is still felt today, shocking and enthralling audiences. Directed by Friedkin (Oscar®-winner for The French Connection) and written by William Peter Blatty, the film is based on his best-selling novel. The Exorcist won Blatty the Academy Award® for Best Adapted Screenplay, as well as winning for Best Sound. The film was also nominated for an additional eight Oscars® including Best Picture.

The Extended Director’s Cut contains three new documentaries; Raising Hell: Filming the Exorcist, including new revealing set footage produced and photographed by cinematographer Owen Roizman, as well as camera and makeup tests, interviews with Friedkin, actress Linda Blair, author/screenwriter/producer William Peter Blatty and Roizman himself. The Exorcist Locations: Georgetown Then and Now featuring a tour of the iconic locations where the film was shot and including a visit to the famous “Exorcist steps”. Faces of Evil: The Different Versions of The Exorcist sees Friedkin and Blatty discussing the different versions of the film and showing outtakes. The result is a new immersive viewing experience that takes you on the set of the film and offers a unique, up-close perspective of the filmmaking and special effects process that is rarely seen. The UK version will also include the Mark Kermode documentary The Fear of God which sees the renowned critic talking about why The Exorcist is his favourite film.

The film tells the now-famous story of a girl’s demonic possession, and a gripping fight between good and evil. Linda Blair, in a breakout role, plays Regan, a young girl who starts to exhibit strange, arcane behaviour. Her mother (Ellen Burstyn) calls upon a priest, Father Karras (Jason Miller) to investigate. But Karras, who has self-doubts about faith, is suddenly confronted with the unimaginable evil of Regan’s possession. When Father Lankester Merrin (Max Von Sydow), a priest with a mysterious past, is called to help, a horrific battle for her soul begins.

Phillies Come Back To Beat Reds, Take 2-0 Series Lead

After falling behind 4-0, the Phillies came back to beat the Reds, 7-4 on Friday to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five National League Division Series. The Reds lead disappeared in the seventh inning at 100 mph. Cincinnati became unglued in Game 2 of the NL division series against the Philllies - with Aroldis Chapman on the mound. The rookie was supposed to preserve a one-run lead with his triple-digit fastball and send the Reds back to Cincinnati with the best-of-five series tied. They go back now trying to stave off elimination. Right fielder Jay Bruce missed a catchable line drive that led to the Phillies scoring the go-ahead runs in the seventh inning and rallying to beat the Reds 7-4 on Friday night. A Work Of Art At Lafayette

Posted: 9:05 pm EDT October 8, 2010Updated: 6:49 pm EDT October 10, 2010

Third Street in Easton is about to undergo a multimillion dollar revitalization project, Lafayette College is building a new arts campus. It will be very strategically located and not on the hill. Governor Rendell said that the synergy of having young people and arts and cultural events all in one place is nothing short of spectacular. And that's the plan. A spectacular overhaul of Easton's 3rd Street,it's already started with the demolition of the notorious old hub cap store. President of Lafayette College Daniel Weiss says that the area where the hubcap store was is not in this plan other to be green space. It'll just be a lovely green area that you can drive by and remember the hubcap store. Mayor Panto agrees, saying that not only are the buildings going to be beautiful but as the governor said they bring from the hill the true vitality of the college. For the city that means fewer ugly buildings and more college students walking around downtown. Weiss says that most of the work is reusing wonderful old buildings that have been here for years including the ones here on 3rd street but they'll also be building a new theater. The blackbox theater. A theater, sound stage, and film and media production space for students to create their own films. Two buildings will be converted into performing and teaching space, another building, the Former Club Mohican will be turned into a social club for students. The project has been in the works for years. Weiss says they've already put several million dollars into the project they've had the state funding, collectively the project is about a $20 million project. This phase of the project will cost $10 million and was given as a gift from the Williams family. Weiss says that they share their vision to create Easton as an arts community focusing on bringing people here to celebrate the arts to learn about the arts and this project is a way to foster that vision.
