The Exorcist, Academy Award® winning director William Friedkin’s masterpiece of suspense that haunted, intrigued, and thrilled the world, is coming to Blu-ray in a two-disc, must-have high-definition set on October 11th. A true cinema landmark, this theological thriller is one of the top ten box office performers of all time1, going to win two Academy Awards and becoming a multi-million dollar franchise.

When the movie was first released in 1973, viewers were blown away – some audience members ran out of the theatre, others became physically ill or couldn’t sleep for weeks. Now, with the superior picture and sound quality that Warner Home Video’s spectacularly restored new Blu-ray version provides, home viewers can experience the intensity of the special effects and infamous sound in this thrilling tale of good vs. evil. Newly remastered in 1080p from the original camera negative, the Blu-ray version includes both the remastered Extended Director’s Cut as well as the remastered theatrical version of the film.

The Exorcist caused a cultural earthquake that is still felt today, shocking and enthralling audiences. Directed by Friedkin (Oscar®-winner for The French Connection) and written by William Peter Blatty, the film is based on his best-selling novel. The Exorcist won Blatty the Academy Award® for Best Adapted Screenplay, as well as winning for Best Sound. The film was also nominated for an additional eight Oscars® including Best Picture.

The Extended Director’s Cut contains three new documentaries; Raising Hell: Filming the Exorcist, including new revealing set footage produced and photographed by cinematographer Owen Roizman, as well as camera and makeup tests, interviews with Friedkin, actress Linda Blair, author/screenwriter/producer William Peter Blatty and Roizman himself. The Exorcist Locations: Georgetown Then and Now featuring a tour of the iconic locations where the film was shot and including a visit to the famous “Exorcist steps”. Faces of Evil: The Different Versions of The Exorcist sees Friedkin and Blatty discussing the different versions of the film and showing outtakes. The result is a new immersive viewing experience that takes you on the set of the film and offers a unique, up-close perspective of the filmmaking and special effects process that is rarely seen. The UK version will also include the Mark Kermode documentary The Fear of God which sees the renowned critic talking about why The Exorcist is his favourite film.

The film tells the now-famous story of a girl’s demonic possession, and a gripping fight between good and evil. Linda Blair, in a breakout role, plays Regan, a young girl who starts to exhibit strange, arcane behaviour. Her mother (Ellen Burstyn) calls upon a priest, Father Karras (Jason Miller) to investigate. But Karras, who has self-doubts about faith, is suddenly confronted with the unimaginable evil of Regan’s possession. When Father Lankester Merrin (Max Von Sydow), a priest with a mysterious past, is called to help, a horrific battle for her soul begins.

Blood Bowl Legendary Edition Presents the Vampire Team

PARIS, France - Two weeks before its release, Blood Bowl Legendary Edition unveils exclusive images of the Vampire team! Discover this formidable Blood Bowl team - one of the 11 new playable races in the Legendary Edition, which releases October 28th (October 29th in Germany).

Widely considered to be among the best players in Blood Bowl, Vampires are respected - or feared - by all. Their superior strength gives them the advantage in most fights, and their great agility, on par with the best Elf players, allows them to execute a wide range of tactics. As a bonus, their ability to hypnotize opponents lets them move freely on the field. But be careful -- Vampires have an uncontrollable bloodlust, and it's not unusual for a player to leave the field and make a meal of an unlucky spectator.

About Blood Bowl: Legendary Edition
A brutal team sport unfolding in a fantasy world based on Warhammer and American football, Blood Bowl is an incredible, brutal game in which no holds are barred as you lead your team to the Blood Bowl final! Blood Bowl: Legendary Edition is the ultimate Blood Bowl edition: 11 new playable races join the 9 races already available in the 2009 edition. Undead, Amazon, Ogres and 9 other races enter Blood Bowl's tournaments. All 20 races have their personal style, tactics and unique skills which give each game a diversity rarely seen in a strategy game. New and more impressive stadiums welcome all these new teams: from the snowy Norse stadium to the creepy interior of a crypt, a change of scenery is guaranteed!

Legendary Edition also introduces a new Story mode , in which gamers will play as a freelance coach. They will have to lead several famous teams and take up many challenges through a story revealing the origins of Blood Bowl, the Old World and its many races that relentlessly compete with each other in merciless games. A newly scripted tutorial will teach all newcomers everything they need to know about coaching a Blood Bowl team. In order to stay as close as possible to the official rules, many additions and updates have been made to better match the latest Blood Bowl Rulebook, used in all official board game official tournaments.

Blood Bowl: Legendary Edition will be released on October 28th (retail and digital download).

Berks Home On Extreme Makeover Home Edition Airs Sunday

Posted: 10:57 pm EDT October 15, 2010

People can't wait to see Berks County hit national television next Sunday on ABC's Extreme Makeover Home Edition. Kind of embraces the emotion that I have of my old house and captures the essence of it, said Extreme Makeover Home Edition winner Trisha Urban. It's a wonderful memory and it's not too bold and it's not too bright. Urban's new home was built by hundreds of local volunteers this summer. Her original home in Tilden Township has been captured in multiple forms of artwork. It's made out of my old house and it's a keepsake box, said Urban. At the Goggleworks you can see what was created. What she can't say is where the artwork is located. You won't find that out until you watch the show, said Urban. I can guess where this piece of artwork is in the home but the rest of it - not so easy. The location of this portrait is absolutely perfect cause as soon as you open the door you see these bright big eyes just staring at you, Urban said. Cora's dad Andy died the day she was born. This over here is a book that Jeff also created that holds an iPad that has special message for Cora for when Cora is a little bit older about her daddy, said Urban. And that tragedy is what brought so many Berks Artists together. Trisha says she wants people to see some of the artwork she now owns and allow the artists to shine. The show will be next Sunday and encourage people to come out because the show just doesn't do justice to the artwork you have to actually come out and see it, said Urban. All the money that is being raised at this event is going to Opportunity House and the HBA Restoring Hope Foundation, said Dean Ramich, President of the HBA of Berks County. The HBA Restoring Hope Foundation will be giving mini- extreme makeovers to other deserving people. We want somebody like Trish that even though she went through the hardships she went through she never gave up she never quit still gave back to the community, said Ramich He says what so many people felt that week can happen again. We won't have Ty and his blow horn and that's not a problem, said Ramich. It doesn't need to happen for ABC Extreme Makeover this can happen in the community with just everybody coming together. The art show is from 9-4 Saturday at The Goggleworks. Copyright 2010 WFMZ. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
